“Racism of Originalism”

Amy Comey Barret is a racist.

For the past several years, we have seen the Supreme Court's vacancy become a threat to democracy. With the passing of RBG, a circus with two recent nominees has become a mockery with Barret's nomination. While we are appalled by the nomination because of the hypocrisy and incompetence, the real issue is that the nominee is a self-proclaiming racist.

The real problem with Amy Barret is that she believes in a racist ideology of originalism, which simply says that whatever is stated in the original Constitution is to be followed literally, with no interpretation for application to modern time. In her view, then the history of when the Constitution was written should be upheld, and even all the Amendments are to be ignored. She also believes that judges should not use their judicial minds to interpret the laws for modern applications but should only prosecute them based on their words. On the surface, it sounds like a sound adherence to the law, but this kind of fundamentalism is the source of all violence we see today.

The Islamic Jihadists use the “original” writing to justify beheadings, the subjugation of women, the murder of “infidels”, and oppose any social, cultural, or civil progress. They simply say, “Koran says that women should have head coverings and dress modestly, so they force women to become non-persons by wearing black burkas.” This is the same in Christianity as many churches still do not allow women to speak in their churches, vote, or even be allowed to be members, much less lead. They quote the verse from Paul’s writings, “I do not allow women to talk in the church.” This is the same as why some Zionists support Israel’s military action to expand its borders to include all of Syria, Jordan, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia by referring to the text in the Old Testament where it says all that was promised to Abraham by God.

Originalism also supports the idea that the U.S. should be a white nation, and no one outside of Western Europe should be allowed to be a citizen. The Constitution only counts African ancestry as 3/5 of a person, not a whole person. It does not mention Native persons of the land, persons of Asian heritage, nor persons from the Mediterranean region. The foolish notion of originalism is based on the same eugenics and Arian supremacy that was the foundation of Nazism and the KKK. Originalism began, not as a legal interpretative process, but began with a political agenda to maintain the systemic racism in the U.S. We all must see through the lies of originalism and expose the racism that it represents and racists who uphold the view.
