God’s righteous judgment, described in Romans 2, calls us to consider the path we choose with both hope and responsibility: He will give eternal life to those who persevere in doing good, and He promises glory, honor, and peace to those who practice it. Such perseverance grows from a heart willing to learn. Proverbs 1 reminds us that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge and warns us against following those who would lead us astray. Listening to wisdom, welcoming counsel, and turning away from what harms us help guide our lives toward goodness. Alongside the psalmist, we ask God to teach us to number our days so that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12), for each day offers an opportunity to give thanks and care for what He has entrusted to us.

In that spirit, this week our Doble Alimentación groups practiced exercises that help us, as adults, keep our bodies healthy and maintain our strength. During our time together, one participant shared how these lessons had taken on a deeply personal meaning. Early in 2026, she was hospitalized with a heart-related concern and came close to needing a procedure to have a stent placed. That experience helped her recognize that caring for her body could also be a way of praising God. From then on, the healthy eating classes and encouragement to exercise became habits she patiently nurtured. Her response brought the wisdom of Proverbs to life: she listened to counsel, embraced knowledge, and allowed wisdom to shape her choices.

Over time, her medical test results improved. Last week, after a period of frequent checkups, her doctor told her, “I don’t know what you’re doing, but keep doing it. I’ll see you in a year.” She received those words with joy and gratitude, reflecting on how much her life had changed since she began caring for herself consistently. Today, she lives with greater peace of mind and takes a more active role in her health, while remaining eager to learn. Her testimony reminds us that perseverance in doing good also finds expression in small, everyday choices, sustained by faith and a teachable heart. And so the psalmist’s prayer becomes our own: may we learn to treasure our days, welcome wisdom, and make our care for the life God has given us an expression of gratitude to Him.
